About Jacob

Since I was a kid, sports have always been a passion of mine. However, it became apparent to me early on that I wasn't going to be a professional athlete and that I must join the exciting world of sports in another capacity. That is when my love of film and television intersected with my passion for sports and a new goal emerged: to work in sports media as a sportscaster. My dream one day is to push my love of storytelling and sports to the next level and be one of the great sports broadcasters.

I am currently a sophomore at the University of Pittsburgh, pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Film and Media Studies. I am from Livingston, New Jersey, and graduated from Livingston High School in June of 2023.

While at LHS, I was a member of AM Wired, a class that produced a daily morning announcements show. In AM Wired I hosted a weekly sports update segment called Lancer SportsCenter. The pride and joy of my TV career in high school was a show I created about the New Jersey Devils called Puck Drop. This live show aired weekly on Livingston TV during my four years of high school and continues to air with new students today.

On the announcing front, I worked for D1 Media Pro in high school, a company that live-streams a variety of high school sports. At D1 Media Pro I provided play-by-play, color commentary, and camera work for multiple sports.

At Pitt, I work for WPTS radio, a student-run radio station where I co-host a sports radio show,  provide play-by-play and color commentary for a variety of sports, and conduct studio work for a multitude of productions. I was selected to broadcast play-by-play for Pitt Club Ice Hockey's YouTube live stream in my freshman year. Lastly, I provide production support to the ACC Network's college sports broadcasts.
